GORDON HAYES STONE CARVER

Gordon qualified as an architect in 1986 and has worked across a broad range of sectors, latterly in design management with leading residential developers. Attending a short course at West Dean College, he recognised in stone carving a sense of fulfilment which had begun to elude him over more recent years.

In 2017 he joined the unique Historic Stone Carving degree course at the City and Guilds of London Art School. On graduation with a First Class Honours Degree, Gordon had developed a range of skills and understanding which he is now utilising across a spectrum of work.

Located in Lamberhurst in Kent, Gordon is happy to undertake commissions across the country.

Gordon’s piece, “Earthrise” was sold at the New Beginnings exhibition at the Lettering Arts Centre at Snape Maltings, Suffolk, in the autumn of 2020.

​

"Menippe" is part of a travelling exhibition curated by the Lettering Arts Trust.

​

A full size cast of "The Return" is on permanent exhibition at the International Bomber Command Centre near Lincoln.
